The Big Steal: Ideology, Interest, and the Undoing of Intellectual Property

The Big Steal: Ideology, Interest, and the Undoing of Intellectual Property

Join Prof. Jonathan Barnett on May 28 at 4PM CEST for a free webinar based on his book The Big Steal. In this book he uncovers the ideological and business interests behind the weakening of intellectual property protections in the U.S. content and tech ecosystems since the rise of digital platforms starting in the mid-2000s. Through historical, economic, and legal analysis, Prof. Barnett shows how these policy changes resulted in a skewed ecosystem that favors aggregators over the innovators that drive a robust knowledge economy. The U.S. experience has lessons for other countries in crafting IP policies that sustain innovation ecosystems over the long term.
